Natural Ticks, Black Flies, Mosquitoes & Fleas Spray

"One of the best recipes we've found!"

  • 4 Tbsp. raw apple cider vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. aloe vera gel
  • 1 tsp. vegetable glycerine (optional –  helps to moisturize your dog’s hair and skin and to further carry the essential oils.)
  • 1 Tbsp. sweet almond oil (or some other carrier oil) Almond is a great choice because of its sulfur content; ticks hate it.
  • 4 drops Orange oil
  • 4 drops Lemon oil
  • 4 drops Lavender
  • 6 drops Geranium
  • 10 drops Citronella
  • 10 drops Cedarwood oil
  • Filtered water to fill 8 oz. spray bottle (250ml)

Combine all ingredients in an 8 oz. spray bottle and store in a cool dark place.
TO USE: Shake well before each use. Avoid contact with eyes.
Safe for dogs 12 weeks and older. Lightly spray dog’s entire coat until damp, but not dripping. Brush through. Repeat if necessary. Do not spray on the face.
Not just for dogs, either! Feel free to spray on yourself when walking in the great outdoors. (If sensitive to any of the ingredients, do not use on skin. Not for use on babies or small children.)

Thanks, Mary. We do have great working relationships with many of the farmers in the area, both organic and conventional. We always try to source as close to home as possible, some examples being: Patchwork Gardens (Organic) Miller’s Bay Farm (Conventional), Mighty Micro (Organic) Crooked Hills (honey), Ravensfield Farm (Organic) and many more! There’s always something new and different at Foodsmiths!

Glad to see more natural and organic products are being introduced.

Has consideration been given to working with the neighbourhood organic farmers to bring in fresh produce?

    Keep up the great work!!👍🏻
