Recipe: Get Your Glow On Coffee Scrub

Foodsmiths Recipe by Lisa

Lisa is trained as an Esthetician. Because of her food allergies and skin sensitivities, she has created many of her own recipes for skin care. This recipe is one of her favourites! "This is a great pick-me-up scrub for your morning shower" says Lisa, "And the smell of the coffee is heavenly! The coffee grinds leave a lovely, burnished look to your skin, which is great if you want to extend your tan into the fall." PS: It leaves your skin super soft!

Get Your Glow On Coffee Scrub

Here is what I have put together for you, so you can keep that summer glow! -- Lisa

Body Scrub

  • 3 Tbsp Coffee grinds (Fresh gives a darker glow)
  • 2 Tbsp Coconut Oil
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar (I used raw, organic sugar from our bulk bins. Consistency should be like damp sand, so add more sugar or coconut oil to preference)

Optional additions

  • ½ Tsp Cinnamon powder

or

  • ½ Tsp Chili powder
-The coffee gives a natural tanned glow and smells amazing in the shower
-The Coconut oil moisturizes the skin without harsh chemicals from lotions
-The Sugar acts as an abrasive to slough away dead skin cells
-The Chili powder stimulates circulation and helps with sore joints
-The Cinnamon reduces cellulite and pimples
