Caramelized Onion, Asparagus and Chicken Pizza

The caramelized onions are also wonderful on burgers and sandwiches.
Ingredients

1 pizza dough, from our freezer, thawed

1 large sweet onion, thinly sliced

1 tbsp butter, melted

salt and pepper

1 cooked chicken breast, thinly sliced

8-10 asparagus spears, cooked

1- 1/2 c grated cheddar

olive oil
Directions
Melt the butter, add the onions and season with salt and pepper. Cook over medium heat for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally until the onions are golden in colour.
Stretch out the pizza dough to the desired size. Place on a pan or pizza stone. Drizzle with a little olive oil.
Spread the grated cheddar on the crust, arrange the chicken, and asparagus over the cheese.
Top with the caramelized onions.
Bake at 450° for 10-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted.

We drizzled this pizza with hot honey, which we are in love with! The internet abounds with recipes, but I use three simple ingredients:

- crushed red pepper flakes
- apple cider vinegar
