Chocolate & Orange Panettone Bread Pudding

Ingredients

1lb panettone cut into large cubes (italian sweet bread)

1/2 cup chocolate chips

3 large eggs

2 cups milk

1/2 cup whipping cream

1/2 cup sugar

1 tsp vanilla

Zest of 1 large orange

Coarse sugar

2 tbsp melted butter
-
2/3 cups icing sugar
-
1tbsp orange zest
-
2 tbsp orange juice
-
2 tbsp whiskey (optional)
Orange Sauce
Directions
Butter a 9" x 13" pan. Place panettone cubes in pan. Sprinkle with chocolate chips.
Mix eggs, milk, cream, sugar, zest and vanilla.
Pour over panettone. Press down to soak, let sit for at least 30 min.
Sprinkle with coarse sugar.
Bake 350 degrees for 40-45 mins, or until custard is set and has a slight wobble.
Orange Sauce
Place all sauce ingredients into a small saucepan, heat and bring to a simmer. Remove from heat and add whiskey, if using.
Spoon Pudding into bowls and drizzle with sauce.
