I used 3 different chocolates with this recipe: dark, milk and white. Makes it very attractive.
Ingredients
-
8 oz flat pretzels, I used Snack Factory Milk Chocolate & Caramel Drizzled Pretzel Chips
-
1 cup butter, softened
-
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
-
1 cup semi sweet dark chocolate chips
-
½ cup milk chocolate chips
-
½ cup white chocolate chips
-
Rock salt
Directions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and spray with non-stick spray.
Spread pretzels, breaking some in half, in an even layer on the cookie sheet.
In small saucepan heat butter and sugar, bring to a boil stirring to combine, once the mixture boils stop stirring and allow to cook for 3-5 minutes. It will start to foam up and turn to a caramel colour as it reaches correct temperature.
Pour the butter-sugar caramel mixture evenly over the pretzels, the mixture will spread more in the oven.
Place in pre-heated oven for 5 minutes
Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the top.
Let sit 3-5 minutes to let chocolate soften, then spread evenly over the top of pretzels with a silicone spatula.
Sprinkle with rock salt, then place in refrigerator to set. Once hard, take out and break up as desired, store in airtight container in the fridge.
