Ground Turkey (or Beef) with Snow Peas

This is a recipe I used to make a lot using ground beef. I no longer eat beef but make it with ground turkey instead. It’s good with either one.

Ingredients

1 tsp olive oil

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 small onion, diced

1 pkg Hayter’s Ground Turkey, thawed

1 small can tomatoes
-
2 tbsp tomato paste

1 1/2 tsp allspice

1/4- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

salt and pepper

1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
-
1 bag snow peas
-
1 tbsp fresh parsley
Directions
Sauté the garlic and onions in the oil. Add the ground turkey. Cook until no longer pink.
Add the tomatoes, tomato paste and spices.
Bring to a boil, then reduce and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
Add the chickpeas and snow peas, simmer for about 5 minutes.
Stir in the parsley.
Serve with rice or couscous.
