Foodsmiths Original Recipe by Marilyn

Everyone loves the holiday tradition of candy bark! Here are two recipes that are pretty enough to serve at parties, give as gifts, or enjoy all through the holiday season.

Lanark Bark

Lanark Bark

You will need:

  • 2 Cups Mercken Light chocolate wafers melted
  • 1 Large Temple Maple Sugar Leaf coarsely chopped
  • 3 Maple Candies (from our bulk bins) crushed
  • ¼ cup chopped walnuts

Line baking sheet with parchment paper. Melt wafers over a hot water bath or microwave in 30 second intervals until melted and smooth. Pour chocolate onto parchment paper, spread out to a thickness of cardboard.

Sprinkle with chopped maple leaf, crushed maple candy and chopped walnuts. Be sure to cover all the chocolate with a little bit of everything.

Let set up in freezer for apprx. 10 minutes.

Break into pieces and enjoy.

Candy Cane Bark

Candy Cane Bark:

  • 2 Cups Mercken White wafers melted
  • ½ Medium Bell Candy Cane broken with some pieces left a bit bigger and some crushed completely into sugar

Line baking sheet with parchment paper. Melt wafers over a hot water bath or microwave in 30 second intervals until melted and smooth. Pour chocolate onto parchment paper, spread out to a thickness of cardboard.

Sprinkle with crushed candy cane. Be sure to sprinkle with the sugar dust off of the cutting board. It will add a sparkle and a bit of texture. Looks beautiful.

Let set up in freezer for apprx. 10 minutes. Break into pieces and enjoy.
