Maple Marinated Trout

This versatile maple marinade can also be used on salmon, or grilled veggies.
Ingredients

2 ½ tbsp maple syrup

1 ½ tbsp tamari or soy sauce

1 garlic clove, minced

1 tsp grated fresh ginger

1 ½ tsp sesame oil

pinch of red chili flakes, optional

Garnish: 2 tbsp finely chopped green onion and toasted sesame seeds

2 pieces (around 1 ½ lb) rainbow trout (or salmon)
Directions
Mix the maple syrup, tamari, garlic, ginger, sesame oil and chili flakes (if using)
Season the fish with salt and pepper and then spoon half of the marinade on top.
Grill skin side down for 6-8 minutes or until meat is opaque.
Turn over and grill for 2 minutes.
Serve with remaining marinade. Garnish with the green onions and sesame seeds.
Recipe Note
I served this marinated trout with simple grilled vegetables and potatoes. Wonderful!
