Ontario and Wild Blueberries are here. What a treat! So great for muffins or an easy sauce to spoon over ice cream (the Reid's Ice Cream cups are perfect for this) or a slice of cake.

This is the best lemon-blueberry muffin recipe: dense lemony crumb, loaded with blueberries, with a scone-like texture: what’s not to love? This new family favourite recipe disappears almost as soon as it comes out of the oven. 

This is a recipe I started making as a teenager for my family. It originally came from a cookbook of my Mom's. I have slightly adapted the recipe over time.  The name buckle comes from the process of the cake batter rising but the berries and topping weighing it down or causing it to "buckle".
